Web Design & Web Development for the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt (Germany)

Fresh wind for the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt! Since December 2022, Dr. Thomas E. Bauer is the new director of the Training and Education Institute of the City of Science Darmstadt. Divided into the University of Cooperative Education and the Municipal Music School, 1675 pupils and students are currently learning there. Bauer wants to make a difference, inspire with new ideas and further develop the academy. He wants to make it more open and more attractive for everyone.

Part of this ambitious project is the relaunch of the website. DIE NEUDENKER® were commissioned as creative agency with the web design. Our mission was to dare new things, to combine artistic, conceptual and technical aspects and to make them experiencable for the user.

The target group covers a broad spectrum: from pre-school age to the finished master student, learners and teachers, parents and children, applicants, sponsors, regional and international - everyone must be taken along. This is also reflected in the wide range of programs offered by the Akademie für Tonkunst.

On the landing pages 'learn' (music school), 'prepare' (pre-college), 'study' (study program) and 'perform' (further education), you can discover courses and degree programs. The clear website structure makes content easy to consume and provides all relevant information in a compact form. The bilingualism and accessibility we implemented improves the user experience and creates a positive brand experience for everyone.

The heart of the website are the 'Events'. The website theme developed especially for the academy by DIE NEUDENKER® uses WordPress as the content management system and Elementor as the page builder. This makes it easy for the academy staff to post articles themselves and maintain them editorially. Info days, concerts, festivals, workshops and much more are planned. In this way, Darmstadt citizen, who have not had much to do with music so far, should also be reached. The blog will also keep users up to date on what's happening at the Academy.

After completion respectively implementation, we gave the employees a content training. And a tool for room allocation is planned for release 2.
