Our legendary barbecue and Christmas parties, cooking together in 'the tasting room' Darmstadt, or the everyday chocolate dose - we like it! That's why we want to introduce you to two exciting food projects from Darmstadt: Ex-Neudenker Johannes with Restegourmet and Neudenkerin Josephine with Joybowls.

Restegourmet - the (web)app for cooking with leftover ingredients

After 8 years as a web developer at DIE NEUDENKER®, Johannes went into business for himself to make his dream come true with restegourmet.de: a recipe search for ingredients that you can use to avoid your own food waste - we think app-solutely cool!

The meta search engine Restegourmet, based on Angular and Django, can be used as a website or app. With Restegourmet, you enter the ingredients you have at home and are then shown recipes that can be cooked with these ingredients. You can choose if you are looking for inspiration or if you just want to get started with the ingredients you entered.

For this purpose, Restegourmet searches through over 650,000 recipes and includes not only main dishes, but also desserts, salads or breakfast bowls. You can also filter by individual diet, which is super helpful for intolerances or vegan lifestyles, for example. In the Restegourmet blog you can also find great articles about leftovers and tips for cooking and baking.

Breakfast bowl meets leftover recycling

As NEUDENKER buddies, Josephine and Johannes share the same passion: cooking & eating well while keeping an eye on sustainability ;-).
